Prenatal, Postpartum & Lactation Massage: Relaxation & Therapeutic Care

  • Postpartum relaxation massage for mom at Makana Wellness in Oak Brook

Your body does so much—it's time to give it the care it deserves! Whether you're pregnant, newly postpartum, nursing, or simply in need of deep relaxation, I offer specialized bodywork to help you feel your best.

Prenatal Massage: Certified Care for Every Trimester

As a certified prenatal massage therapist, I provide safe, effective bodywork for every stage of pregnancy. Whether you’re in your first, second, or third trimester, prenatal massage can help you feel more comfortable and supported as your body changes.

    Prenatal massage can:

Relieve tension and discomfort in the neck, shoulders, back, and hips.

Reduce pregnancy-related swelling & improve circulation

Release belly tension from your growing baby, providing more space and comfort

Promote relaxation, reduce stress, and improve sleep

I use comfortable, supported positioning to ensure your safety and relaxation throughout your session. Whether you’re looking for pain relief, preparing your body for birth, or just need a moment to recharge, this is your time to relax and reconnect with your body.

    Postpartum Massage:

Your body is still healing after birth, and postpartum massage can provide much-needed relief and support during this transition.

    These sessions help:

Soothe neck, shoulders, and back pain

Improve circulation and reduce postpartum swelling

Support deep relaxation and emotional well-being

Postpartum massage can be scheduled as soon as you are feeling up to coming in!

    Lactation Support:

I offer Therapeutic Breast Massage, which utilizes specialized massage techniques and hot stones to help calm engorgement and release plugged ducts—especially stubborn and recurring ones! This massage promotes lymph fluid movement and reduces inflammation, allowing milk to flow more easily.

After your Therapeutic Breast Massage, it’s very beneficial to nurse your baby or pump. If you’d like, I can also apply Kinesio tape to the breast, ensuring that the placement is appropriate so it does not interfere with your baby’s latch or pump flange. This gentle lifting of the skin allows fluid to flow, which can continue to reduce edema and further improve milk flow after you leave your appointment.

Many moms experience immediate relief and less pain and I will show you techniques to continue the healing at home. Generally 1 -2 sessions is all that’s needed.

    Craniosacral Therapy (CST):

CST is a gentle, hands-on therapy that helps release tension and restore balance in the body.

    This is beneficial for:

Chronic jaw, neck, and shoulder tension

    Headaches and migraines

    Stress and nervous system regulation

Pelvic and sacral alignment, particularly postpartum

CST works with your body’s natural rhythms, using light touch to encourage deep relaxation and healing. It’s a wonderful way to reset your system—can be added to any massage therapy session, no additional charge!

    Cupping Therapy:

Cupping is a therapeutic technique that uses gentle suction to release muscle tension, support circulation, and encourage the body’s natural healing response. Cups are placed on areas of tightness or discomfort to help ease pain and promote relaxation.

This approach is especially beneficial for:

    Tight shoulders, back, and hips

    Postpartum muscle recovery

    Supporting circulation and lymph flow

    Deep relaxation and stress relief

Cupping is offered as part of any massage session at no additional charge. Please note: cupping may leave temporary skin markings that can be light to dark that typically fade within a few days.
